KS1 Sports Day 2011

sportsSPORTS DAY – We were very lucky with the weather at the start of our Sports Day for KS1. They all were eager to get going on their races down the track. Everyone tried their best to put the bean bags in the hoops, jump in the sack race, stay steady with their balls and spoons and then run as fast as they could in the sprint. sacksAll were awarded stickers for 1st, 2nd and 3rd and for their efforts, determination and perseverance.

Well done to all of KS1 for their terrific stamina even when the rain started to fall and we had to shelter under the trees and run in the rain! The winning team for KS1 was Water (blue) with 123 points, followed by Air (red) with 104 points, Earth (green) with 93 and Sun (yellow) with 74 points. eggsSo congratulations to all those in Water. It was great to see so many parents supporting their children and stayed until the children went inside due to the rain. It was unfortunate that the rain came, as it prevented us from having our highly contested Parents races. Maybe we could do them at the end of the KS2 afternoon. Thanks also to Miss Moore for organising the day and Mrs Leonard and Mrs Bailey for sorting out the children so efficiently in their teams ready to race.running
