Tockington Cross Country Festival

will alexA team of 32 children from years 3 to 6 participated in the annual Tockington Cross Country festival last week. They were up against some very tough course and stiff competition from many different private schools from across the South West as well as other local primary schools.

group 1 group 2As usual they took the festival very seriously and conducted themselves in such a great sporting manner. The year 3 and 4 boys teams were up against each other and were neck and neck coming into the home straight with the Year 3 team just pipping the year 4’s. They came 4th and 5th overall, a very good achievement. The girls teams from Years 3 and 4 came in exactly the same positions.

matthew chloeIn the year 5 and 6 boys races once again it was very close with the year 6 boys just winning out. The girls did themselves proud as well. All of the children who represented our school should be extremely pleased by their efforts and determination. Thank you to all the parental support along with Mrs Williams and Mrs Meads who train with the children on a weekly basis. Well done to everyone!

The time and effort put in by both Charlotte and Sally, in preparation for this event has been incredible and was reflected on the day by the comradery of all the children that competed. It was a privilege to be part of the occasion. Well done everyone, pupils and trainers alike!!
