Cross Country Competitions

TOCKINGTON CROSS COUNTRY – Teams of 12 children from years 3 to 6 ran at Tockington Manor School in the annual cross country competition. The team looked great in their red school athletic t-shirts and ran their little legs off to try to maintain the proud record we have at the event. Up against some tough opposition not only from local schools but other private schools from the wider area, the children ran extremely well. The Year 5 and 6 boys came fifth as did the year 3 and 4 girls team. All of the training in the mornings, come rain or shine, certainly has paid off. The children did themselves proud and showed true determination and spirit as well as sportsmanship.

COLSTON’S CROSS COUNTRY – It seems only like yesterday the children from years 3 to 6 were running in a cross country tournament. This week it was at Colston’s Collegiate, Bristol. We had 24 children running against 15 other schools. The course is really quite difficult with lots of ups and downs and tricky terrain.  They ran in their teams and the first 4 to finish were counted against the points tally. The girls did really well with both Years 3 and 4 and Years 5 and 6 coming third overall. Jack Broadhurst came third in the individual race for Years 5 and 6. Well done to all of the runners and their support teams watching on the sidelines.

Well done
