Summer Fayre 2014

What glorious sunny day for our annual Summer Fayre. We were so fortunate to be able to hold all of our fayre outside and bask in the summer sun. There were lots of stalls, games and activties to particpate in including human fruit machine, wellie wanging, maggott racing, pony rides (thanks to Sammy Snow for bringing her ponies once again) and the bouncy castle.

The world cup themed football tournament was a great success. The six teams taking part played each other over a 10 minute period. We had teams named by the children of Brazil, England, Germany, Nigeria, Spain and Uruguay. All of the teams wanted to win the tournament and set about playing with great gusto and determination. It was very close after 4 matches with Spain winning all of their games meaning they went through to the final along with Brazil, who pipped Urugauy by goal difference. The final was very compeitive but it was Spain who were victoriuos. Well done to all 48 children who took part from years 3 to 6. A special thank you to Mrs Leonard for organising the tournament as well as Mr Weatherhead and Mr Williams for referreeing the matches.

It was also great to have live music in the shape of Serenade Big Band, who played many classics as well as singing for us. They entertained the crowds all afternoon. Thank you to the band for their time. Thank you to all of these people for coming along and entertaining us so well. The fayre was another successful event for the PA who have worked tirelessly on fund raising this year for our New Community Arts Room. The event raised a total of £      , which is a fantastic amount.

Thank you for all parents for their donations on Friday for our non uniform day as well as those who came and helped out setting up, on stalls and clearing up at the end of the day. Most of all thank you to the PA for organising the day. There are many more photos on the website. We look forward to our next event.
