Book Week 2014

We had a wonderful week of Roald Dahl activities with all the children investigating his different books. Reception found out about Willy Wonka and his chocolate factory; Year 1 and 2 enjoyed looking at the giants in the BFG; Year 3 and 4 enjoyed the Twits and George’s Marvellous Medicine; and Years 5 and 6 created their own parodies of fairy tales in the style of Revolting Rhymes.

On Friday there was a surprise when Mr Twit gate crashed our assembly and told us all about his life and the disasters that had befallen him and Mrs Twit. Everyone enjoyed his story telling and his songs, which we all learnt. It was great to see the effort in which all the children (and parents) to look so good in their costumes – there were lots of Oompa loompas, Willy Wonkas, animals including foxes and crocodiles, Matilda’s and the scary Miss Trenchballs. Thank you for making the day special.

The Book Fayre ran from Monday to Thursday it was extremely busy and we sold a fantastic amount of books totaling £1161.82. As a school we gain 60% of this total to £697! We will use this to restock some areas of the library. We do appreciate your support.
