18 is another rectangle number! We recapped that a rectangle number is called an array. When numbers are arranged in rows and columns we call them arrays. Remember the rows and columns have to be equal!

Look at 18 in different arrays and discuss the rows and columns. They are all the number 18.

18 is another teen number. It is made of a 10 and an 8. 10 + 8 = 18.

We made the number 18 using tens frame, Numicon, cubes, woodlice, a numberline and part, part whole. We practised writing the number 18 using chalk outside and drew 18 things!

We used a numberline to count forwards to 18 and back to 0 in different voices.

In the episode, 19 was unable to make a rectangle shape. Instead, they made crazy shapes. Can you remember any they made? Count out 19 cubes and make your own ‘crazy 19 shape’!
