Welcome to Year5/6!  We hope that we all have a fantastic year together and form a safe, happy and caring class, who make great progress with our learning.  Please speak to us after school or email Mrs Barrett or Mrs Goode if you have any questions, concerns or if you have any positive feedback.

This year we will be trialling a new approach to Guided Reading session in our class, to incorporate more opportunities for reading for pleasure. To support this, please ensure your child has a book they would like to read in school with them each day. More detail can be found in the letter in the attachments section below. Termly tasks for reading are saved on our class Padlet. 

Our Topic for Term 3 and 4 will be All Gold: The Maya. Please see the Topic Knowledge Organiser (attached to the end of this page) to see what we will be learning. We will also have a trip to Cadbury World in Term 4!

Spelling

Please see the spelling overview for the term below. We will be using the Essential Spellings approach, looking at spelling patterns and rules and practising how to apply these. Here are some suggestions for techniques you could use to practise at home.
