France Wednesday

Bonjour a Paris - our very exciting trip for today. It was such a gloriously sunny day.

The coach journey didn't take too long and we were in the centre of Paris. Out of the coach window we saw lots of grand buildings and sights such as Le Assemble Nationale, Grand Palais, Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, the River Seine with all of it's bridges and eventually the Tour Eiffel.

A quick stop to take lots of photos was taken before walking over to buy our tickets to walk up the 670 steps to the second stage of the tour. It was great seeing the sights from up higher than on the coach. Once at the second stage we walked around the outside taking in the views over Paris. We saw the golden dome of the Invalids where Napoleon is buried, the Seine, L'arc d'Troimphe and a small version of the Statue of Liberty. We went to the shop to buy our gifts from the tour before heading back down the stairs.

Next stop was the bateaux along the Seine. We saw the sights again from a different perspective from the bateaux. It was very sunny and busy on the bateaux and a good rest after the stairs walking. We watched the world go by.

From there it was a quick coach ride over to Musee d'Orsay to have a look around the art exhibition, especially the Monet and van Gogh's, as well as the sculptures and models of Paris and L'Opera.

Back to the chateau for dinner, then it was off for our evening activity of crepe making. We found out the names of the ingredients in French. They were very scrummy.

A great day was had by all.
